Introduction:
At the year of 1347 B.C, the Trojan War began. This was a war that would last for about ten years. This war was fought between the Trojan army, which was led by Hector son of Priam, the king of troy, and the Spartan army, which was led by Agamemnon. Even thought the Greeks won the war, they suffered a lot of defeats, whether it was the loss of there best warrior, or the loss of thousands of solders. In this presentation, I will talk to you about the reasons behind this long dreadful war.

This all began when Zeus, the god of all goods, fell in love with the beautiful maiden Leda, wife of king Tyndareus. He finally made her pregnant and she gave birth to Helen. Helen was beautiful and Theseus, the great hero, kidnapped her. She was rescued and her father made her marry Menelaos.
On the other hand, Hecuba, wife of king priam, had a child and a fortune teller told her that her child would burn down the city of Sparta. She ordered the death of the child. Ageleos raised the child, and he called him Paris.
Zeus fell in love with Thetis, but could not marry her. Hence he wed her to Peleus. Eris was not invited to the wedding so she put a golden apple in the middle of the wedding room. The gods fought over it. They finally went to Praris to be judged. Paris gave the apple to Aphrodite and in return, she would make Helen love him. Paris joined the games started by king Priam. The king found out that Paris is his son and he made a feast to honor him. Paris went to Sparta for a visit and he met Helen. They instantly fell in love. Helen left Menelaos and went to Troy with Paris.
Thetis and Peleus had a child called Achilles. His mother wanted to make him invincible and invulnerable so she dipped him in the river of Styx and he became invulnerable. She was caught trying to make him invincible so she felt insulted and she left. She then returned to take her son to an island. He would then be searched for to enter the war against Troy but that is a different story that will be told by Karim.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, the Trojan War began as a result of the love that Zeus held toward Leda, which resulted in their child, Helen. The father of Helen swore to kill any man who would take his daughter to another country and that he did when Paris fell in love with Helen and took her to Troy.
